Flyers on British Airways can soon access fast connectivity in the air without charge after a major agreement involving Elon Musk's space firm.
The carrier revealed that this free, “quick and reliable” internet offering from the satellite provider is set to be available for customers flying economy, business, and premium cabins from next month.
The umbrella firm for British Airways, the airline group, stated it had finalized an deal involving the satellite firm for providing internet access on 500-plus aircraft operated by the group's operators, including Aer Lingus, the Spanish carrier, and the low-cost airline.
The airline noted that the introduction for this service was included in a multi-billion pound “modernization” plan and would offer smooth connectivity service for flyers from boarding through landing, even when traveling across oceans and far-off locations.
