19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hard courts

A revitalized Medvedev secured his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has endured a difficult period, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in especial - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with former coach Gilles Cervara.

Currently working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested competitive victory over opponent Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's initial trophy after the Italian tournament and initial on a hardcourt from that period of 2023.

Victory also means the Russian has won 21 championships at 21 various events.

"It's the first time I have attended a event with my children at once, so to win a title is really nice," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I achieved when my child her name was born was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, including in that event earlier this year.

His retrieving play style and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had prompted some to doubt if his capacity to compete at the top level was over.

But the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and compete positively, reinforced by an better serve.

He fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, securing four of the concluding five points to take the lead.

The competitors exchanged breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his first ATP Tour title, took control to force a third set.

He defended 4 early chances in a close third set before the champion won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Appropriately, he secured the title with a point at the net, with Moutet unable to control a shot after a lengthy match.
